A glance at our week....
This last week has been a FULL week! It began with a celebration of secretary's day here at the school. The Kinder class made notes for our FABULOUS secretary, and then she invited us into her domain to see where and how she works! The class was delighted!!! They even were all invited to make a photo copy, which was a HUGE hit! As you can see in the pics below, the children were just about eye level with the paper feed tray which was wonderful to watch!!!
We also had a Christmas program on Friday for the entire school......Pre-K thru 12th grade!!! WHAT an undertaking that was!!! There were countless hours of preparation put in by numerous staff personnel and volunteers here at SCA, but in my estimation of things, the night was a HUGE success! Here is the Kinder class dressed and waiting to perform their special number.....
One of the more complicated parts of the night was a black light presentation that was put on by the High School students grades 7-12th. While it was a logistical stretch for Brian, he tackled it to the best of his ability, and it turned out great! Here is a link so you can see MOST of the presentation. The first 5-15 seconds were not captured in the video.....
Now, the BEST part of Christmas as the song attests to is NOT the manger, the wise men, the gifts, the angels, etc.........it's about the life of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World! NOT only His life was extraordinary, but also His death and payment for our sins, His burial, His resurrection, His ascension into heaven, and His anticipated return one day!!! Can't wait for THAT!
We also were able to attend the year-end marriage event at our local Spanish church. Here are a few of the couples and an attempt at capturing the group!
Our Pastor here in Chile and his wife....
The couple that organized the marriage events this year....
....and I bet you'll never guess who these two people are!!!
Here's a group shot of our luncheon out at a local Chinese Restaurant.
Now, it is ALSO noteworthy that Monday was a very special holiday in the Hovey household.....Brian turned 30! We had a cookout for the occasion, complete with meat, sides, friends, fellowship, and of course, Birthday cake!!! Here a few pics....
Brian hard at work at the grill....
Chicken cabobs from our neighbors......mmmmmmmmmmm.......
Brian (and the meat) being supervised and salivated over......
A partial group shot of some of our table spread and company for the occasion....
...and finally, but MOST importantly, the Birthday boy with his lemon flavored Birthday cake!
Like I said, it's been a BUSY week, but we are grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it!
