My Attitude

My Attitude
This week has reminded me that in the midst of many things I can’t control, that God has graciously given me a choice about my attitude and how I respond to what’s given.  Now, very often, I don’t choose the best response.  Please, don’t get the wrong picture, BUT I was challenged to write a poem in light of this idea.....for me, as a reminder.  I thought it would be fun to share in the hopes of blessing someone else out there and encouraging them to make a choice about attitude too!

This week we could also use some prayers for our family as Brian will be making the long journey to the coast in search of some supplies.  It is a very long drive on horrific roads.  Please pray for safety him and also pray for me as I will be with the kids.

My Attitude
(By Phyllis Hovey)
The runny noses, bums and all
That must be wiped at a beck and call
Are part of life for moms as me
Today I’ll choose: Humility.
The constant cries, and screams and shouts
From little ones as they go about
Are part of life for moms as me
Today I’ll choose: Tranquility.
The dishes, laundry, sweeping floors
That seem to be un-endless chores
Are part of life for moms as me
Today I’ll choose them, Happily.
Toys everywhere within the house
No matter where I walk about
Are part of life for moms as me
Today I’ll choose: Laugh Heartily.
The interruptions, needs, demands
That seem to come and then expand
Are part of life for moms as me
Today I’ll choose: Serenity.
God is gracious and has taught me
That no matter what the day
And no matter what comes up
That I yet have a choice, a say,
I need not let what others do
Control my every move.
I can choose how I respond,
And I can choose my ATTITUDE!!!

Moriah thinks her attitude is fine....just not sure why everyone else gets bent out of shape....

Gunner in search of new bugs.....always helps with his attitude.....
