Soldiers, sickness, and success
We were blessed this last week with reinforcements. A team of Australians came to help the team here with some projects! What a blessing!
In some ways, pictures speak louder than words.....so here are a few....although they are far from capturing the impact these soldiers of the Lord made!
Here is Brian on the tractor towing a 20 foot container that was cut up to become our security guard house at the main entrance to the campus. The guys who came and worked cut out the windows, door, and welded the security bars before it was ready to move.
In this picture, the guard house is in place and the roof trusses are being out in place and secured.
This is the other side of the guard house looking from the road side of the college.
As you can see from this picture, there were lots of hands and hearts working together to serve the Lord. It took a small army to get everything up and in place and we give God the glory for all that was accomplished!
Here the roof is being put on and attached.
Once the roof was in place there was siding and insulation to put up....not in that order though!
Here is the front view of the team working on the siding...looks really great!
The second project that was done was to create the foundation for a new building.
Once everything was planned out there were lots of hands digging in the hot sun several feet into the ground.
Boxes were then made over the holes to set the exact height each one needed to be at. They were then filled with cement and rebar to create a strong foundation for the new building that will, Lord willing, be set up in the next couple months.
On Thursday, Brian got really sick and took some time to rest. Praise the Lord, the team carried on and saw the project through! Brian got worse as the day wore on, so we consulted our teammate who is very medically inclined and discovered he may have been having an issue with kidney stones as well as a blood test showed he had typhoid! Needless to say, he was out of the picture for the rest of the week. He took some time to rest and heal and is feeling MUCH better than he did. Thank you to all who prayed for him and those that stepped up in his absence!
It was really neat to see how the body of Christ can work together when we are focused on Him and are on the same page. It took all the 'soldiers' to keep this project moving and attitudes excelled! There was such a willingness to do whatever was needed and serve....what an inspiration! We thank you for all who prayed, all who gave of time, money and other resources, all who cooked meals and did laundry, but mostly? We thank God for His design of how we all work together! We serve a truly Mighty God and a truly Merciful Savior, and we give Him all the honor, glory and praise!
