To God be the Glory, we have good news to report! Moriah was able to step down one of her medicines last week...we were encouraged at the good progress! We have been in touch with her doctor on Mayo Clinic’s portal, and so far things are progressing as planned. Whoop! Whoop!
This last week we also underwent some testing for Gunner in the form of a sleep study at Mayo Clinic. We received the test results and they stated that he is not experiencing sleep apnea as we thought, so there is NO NEED to have his tonsils out at this juncture. Whoooooo-hooooooo!
Thank you for all the prayers sent up on behalf of us and our sweet kiddos.....we have felt uplifted and upheld as we have navigated through these waters. We couldn’t have done it alone! When prayer warriors unite, we accomplish much by God's Grace and provision!
We do have one request. A few weeks ago Brian was having a lot of tooth pain. We found out that one of the many Covid related side effects in our culture is that most dentists are booked out for months. We were able to get in to see one on a cancellation, but unfortunately, it was not good news. Brian has a tooth that cracked and exposed the nerve. This requires a root canal and a crown for the tooth which cost a couple thousand dollars. God knows, and we are thankful we are in a place where it can be fixed. The procedure will hopefully get started in the next week. Will you pray with us for God's provision, and also, will you pray for our hearts to trust God's timing for our return to PNG?
As we continue to experience hiccups along our furlough journey, we must confess that the ups and downs aren’t quite what we expected. Hahahahaha....we thought PNG was the land of the unexpected.....but maybe it's a more universal principle than we thought! "We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know Who holds tomorrow," is a quote on a plaque that I received from a sweet soul at ABWE's home office when we were beginning our missions journey. I needed that reminder then, and I find that it resonates with me now too. It reminds me of a hymn, too, "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow," written by Ira Stanphill.
Wherever you are today, dear reader, Our Good God has a plan, a purpose, and your road is NOT unexpected to Him! Our encouragement to you today are the lyrics, as follows:
I don't know about tomorrow
I just live from day to day
I don't borrow from its sunshine
For its skies may turn to gray
I don't worry o'er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I'll walk beside Him
For He knows what is ahead
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand
Ev'ry step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter
Ev'ry cloud is silver-lined
There the sun is always shining
There no tear will dim the eye
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky
I don't know about tomorrow
It may bring me poverty
But the One who feeds the sparrow
Is the One who stands by me
And the path that is my portion
May be through the flame or flood
But His presence goes before me
And I'm covered with His blood
Gunner as he was all hooked up for his sleep study
Moriah enjoying time at a playground
We got invited to a local car show and it was a blast!
"Look! This car is almost our size!" Said Gunner....he is getting ideas already!😁
